A True Story

 It was a 90 degree day.  Patrolling the handicap parking lot for wrongdoers.  And this was the only building tall enough to supply a good shadow to stand in.

That’s it.  End of story?

The Pantry Studio Feels Like Rebirth!

 I am embarking on a reinvention of myself.  Picking up where I left off thirty years ago.  Putting myself back up on stage and inhabiting many new areas of performance.  The idea is to not retire (never, ever, ever.  Banish that word) but to Reinvent. It will be a functional. Minimal. Portable.  Think “Carpetbagger Performer.”

Anyway, my Pantry Studio is where I begin my voice over auditions and performances.  I love the feel of setting up the gear and then taking it all back down.  I know.  Would it not be more practical to leave it set up.  First, the space is not mine alone.  So, gumming up some else’s space would be selfish.  Second, I learn and adjust each time I am in the act of setup and striking the gear.  Learning is the journey.  That is important.

 I am not sharing this drawing. You will only see it here. As I was drawing the prior  pic, I kept seeing this bunch. Or maybe, I could not help but see them. Because they wanted to be noticed.

 My meditation was fairly peaceful. But this bunch was still there. 

Never Alone

 Like Death and Fear, sometimes, we just have to make friends with our Monkey Mind.

(We Are) Emerging!

 Emerging! You hear it daily on the news. We are emerging. And I think that is great and positive. The difficulty, the sadness comes when we believe we have emerged.  Then we stop trying. Because we believe we have “won the war,” that we have “made the goal,” “scored the point,” and that we have “arrived.”  And there is the problem. We do not see, in this results driven world, that what we should be most inspired by is the “Emerging.”  And that we should always resolve to be emerging.  And never to have emerged. Because then you are at your end.
